Around 20 full time jobs will be created in the town after plans to build a Lidl supermarket in Droitwich were approved by councillors.

The new store in George Baylis Road will in include a car park and landscaping on the site.

Cllr Bob Brookes from Wychavon District Council, said: “From what I can see this will be a great improvement on what is effectively a brownfield site. I would be very happy to propose approval.”

Councillors went on to unanimously agree approval for the development. The existing buildings on the site will be demolished to make way for the new store.
