Droitwich Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT’s) have been working within the community to address a variety of road safety issues within the area over recent weeks.

A number of concerns raised by residents relate to traffic offences i.e. speeding, use of mobile phones whilst driving, no seatbelts and lack of correct documents (insurance, tax, mot).

The Droitwich SNT’s said: “Let’s face it, we can all remember times where we have been out on the road and seen other drivers using their mobile phones while driving or not putting their seat belts on whilst leaving a carpark or driveway – I’m sure we could  also think of times where we’ve seen a driver who’s manner of driving is below the standard we expect, especially when it comes to speed and perhaps even thought to ourselves ‘they’re going to hurt or kill someone driving like that’.

“Enforcement for these types of traffic related offences often lend themselves to criticism from some members of the public – we would urge those people to consider the reasons behind the enforcement which are ultimately to prevent road deaths.”

With that in mind, PC Williams has supported Droitwich SNT’s with addressing road related offences and over the past two months has dealt with the following matters:-

9 Vehicles have been reported for Speeding on Tagwell Road, Westwood Road, the village of Crowle and Church Lench and the A38

10 Vehicles have been seized for No Insurance

3 Vehicles have been fined and reported to DVLA for No Tax

The team report that they will continue to address these concerns and they thank the community for their continued support.
